Idaho Private Investigator Certification Program:
Associate & Active Members are eligible to take the Idaho Certified Private Investigator Certification Exam.
PIAI Membership Information & Requirements
The Private Investigators Association Of Idaho offers three different types of memberships, please email: membership@piai.us or submit a form inquiry about becoming a member.
Active Membership
$100/year + $50 non refundable background check fee at the time of membership application. Active members receive a membership ID card in addition to the standard member certificate for presentation to prospective clients.
An Active Membership includes individuals and business entities currently registered as a Private Investigator in the state of Idaho. Applicant must provide proof of at least 250 hours of verifiable work experience as a private investigator. Military & Law Enforcement enjoy a 50% reduction to 125 verifiable hours of professional work experience. Private Investigators enjoy a 25% reduction to 187 verifiable hours of professional work experience. Must pass a background check.
Associate Membership
$75/year + $50 non refundable background check fee at the time of membership application.
An Associate Membership includes individuals, business entities, state associations in the private investigations field or related industry. The Associate member honors retired private investigators and individuals in support of the Private Investigation industry. This membership category is not restricted to Idaho registered businesses. Must pass a background check.
Student, Entry & Retired Membership
$50/year + $50 non refundable background check fee at the time of membership application
A Student & Entry Membership includes those currently enrolled in school or continuing education courses (online or onsite) or otherwise pursuing a Private Investigation career. This membership category is not restricted to Idaho registered businesses. Must pass a background check.
